Government update guidance on biometric information to aid immigration staff

The Home Office has updated the guidance available on biometric information, aimed at aiding immigration staff in managing individuals’ biometric information. The introduction guidance to accommodate those entering the UK using eGates has been updated, as has the guidance for financial providers conducting due diligence on their consumers, to accommodate those using eGates who may not have an entry stamp in their passports. New guidance has also been published for applicants collecting their biometric residence permits (BRPs) from alternative collection locations and for those with standing authority to collect multiple BRPs on behalf of organisations/employers.

Guidance notes can be accessed here.
