Home Office publishes quarterly and annual immigration statistics
The Home Office has published statistics relating to those coming to the UK, extending their stay, gaining citizenship, applying for asylum and being detained or removed, immigration for work, study and family reasons. The numbers show that there were over 140 million passenger arrivals in the year ending September 2018, which shows an increase of over 3% compared to the previous year. There was also a 5% increase in the number of work-related visas granted, 7% increase in study related visas granted and 14% increase in visas granted for family reasons.
