Home Office response outlines Tier 1 Exceptional Promise applications data

A Freedom of Information request has seen the Home Office release a response outlining successful and unsuccessful applications for Tier 1 Exceptional Promise Visas for the Designated Competent Bodies of The Royal Academy of Engineering and Tech Nation. When applying under this immigration category, the applicant must apply to a Designated Competent Body for endorsement. Tech Nation and the Royal Academy of Engineering are two of the five. The body can either endorse them under the exceptional promise or exceptional talent criteria.

The response shows that since 6 April 2014, the number of applications approved by The Royal Academy of Engineering and Tech Nation is 166 and 1,085 respectively. Those rejected were 87 and 762 respectively.

The data seems to indicate that Tech Nation are making full use of their allocated number of endorsements per year and is a popular route for applicants. The Royal Academy of Engineering, on the other hand, is still a very underused category.
