10 Years Long Residence to ILR

You can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain if you have been in the UK legally and continuously for 10 years.

In order to qualify, you must:

  • Have permission to remain in the UK
  • Have resided in the UK for at least 10 years
  • Have not breached your visa terms
  • Meet the English language requirement and pass the Life in the UK test (with a few exceptions)

You can leave the UK for up to 180 days at one time or 540 days in total.

Once you apply, you will be told about the status of your application within 6 months, sometimes this may take longer.

You van apply for a visa extension.

Your relatives need to apply for a visa separately, unless they are your partner or an underage child.
