Application on The Basis of Living Half of Your Life in the UK

If you are over 18 years old but under 25, you can apply for leave to remain on this basis.

You would need to prove that:

  • You are between 18 and 24 years old
  • You have lived in the UK continuously for more than half of your life
  • You are 18 or over and you’ve lived in the UK less than 20 years, but you would find it hard to live in another country
  • You are under 18 and you have lived in the UK continuously for at least 7 years and it would be unreasonable for you to leave the UK

If you are in the UK with leave to remain granted on the basis of living half of the life in the UK being a person over the age of 18 and under the age of 2, you5 can apply for a renewal. If successful, you will will be granted further leave to remain for 30 months under the 10 years route to settlement.

If you have spent 10 years in the UK continuously with leave to remain under the category of living of at least half of the life in the UK, you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK on such basis.
