Home Office launches new EU settlement scheme test
The Home Office has announced that from 21 January 2019, EU citizens as well as non-EU citizen family members holding valid biometric cards, can apply for the immigration status they need once the UK has left the EU. This means that they can take part in a public test phase of the settlement scheme. The scheme will be fully open by 30 March 2019 and EU citizens will have until 30 June 2021 to apply, in line with the withdrawal agreement. Policy papers relating to the statement of changes to the immigration rules have also been published.
