UK Start-up visa

You can apply for this kind of visa if you would like to start a business in the UK fir the first time.

In order to do so, you need to speak English at a certain level (with certain exceptions), have sufficient maintenance funds, be over 18 years old and obtain endorsement.

Endorsement

You need to be endorsed by an authorised body, either:

• A UK higher education institution, or
• a business organisation with a history of supporting UK entrepreneurs

You also need to show that that your business idea is a new idea, which is viable with a potential for growth.

You can add dependants to your application, however you need to be able to show that they have sufficient funds to maintain themselves.

Documents

You would need a valid passport and travel identification, tuberculosis test result (if you are coming from a certain country where the test is mandatory), evidence of your English language knowledge and bank statements showing funds.

If successful, your visa would be valid for 2 years. Certain people can switch into this category, however it does not lead to a settlement.
